Appleton Estate is a journey within itself! Just 2 hours from Montego Bay driving through the winding mountains one-way. Learn of the early methods of distillation, complete with demonstrations, right on up to today’s distillation processes. Once you’ve toured the facilities you will understand why Jamaican rum is known as some of the best rum in the world. Of course, no rum tour would be complete without the rum tasting! Facility is closed undergoing extensive upgrades and renovations. Will re-open November 2017.

Watch ‘Pax’ the donkey as he demonstrate how juice was extracted from the sugarcane in the 18th century. Then visit the Distillery and Aging House where the different methods of distillation are shown. Get a chance to juice your own cane and sample some rum.
